Born in 1905, Celso Franchi has been active as a a violin makers in Ravenna since the 1920s, being influenced by several luthiers in his area, in particular Arturo Fracassi, although he later developed his own individual style.
The Stradivarian model has rather narrow and short corners, with the purfling positioned near the edge, which is rounded to form a small ribbon close to a narrow fluting. The scroll has a curved peg box with a high and widened throat; the volute, of large dimensions, is deeply carved.
