Daoglio, Mario

Born in Suzzara in 1925, Mario Daoglio became passionate about the violin from a fairly young age and began to visit the maker Vasco Pecchini in his workshop, who was also based in that city.

Compared to Pecchini, Daoglio's style is more classical, although perhaps more distant from the Mantuan instruments from the early 20th century. His model is rather narrow, with an elongated lower part, the corners and purfling are well executed; the F-holes are also quite elongated, while the scroll is carved following a well-balanced model; he often used local maple.
