Castellani, Pietro

Born in Florence in 1809, he was the son of Pietro, also a luthier specialized in making guitars and other plucked instruments, with whom he trained. A double bass player, around 1860 he spent a short period in Mantua, but soon after he returned to Florence where he became curator of the collection of the L. Cherubini Conservatory, being assisted since 1866 by Giuseppe Scarampella. He died in Florence in 1884.
