Banzola, Luigi

Born in Faenza in 1901, Luigi Banzola was influenced in his early days as an instrument maker by the Paganini family, Luigi and Giuseppe Secondo, originally from Forlì.

Like them, he used an elongated model that is also reflected in the pattern of his sound holes; the edge and corners are very rounded, in keeping with the Emilia-Romagna tradition; the head model, on the other hand, is reminiscent of some instruments from the Carletti family. He often used local maple.
