Andrea Zanrè approaches violin-making at the age of 18 attending the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria di Parma under the guidance of Renato Scrollavezza and obtains his diploma in 1999. Shortly after graduating his instruments started being well thought of in many parts of the world, and are now appreciated by renowned dealers, connoisseurs and professional players in Italy and abroad. Andrea has participated in several violin making and repair workshops, with a particular focus on acoustics (VSA 2004 and 2007 Acoustics Workshops, Oberlin) and restoration (MCLA Violin Restoration Workshops, with Hans J. Nebel); Andrea continues to implement his professional experience with a regular participation to the VSA Oberlin workshops and by organizing similar events at the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria R. Scrollavezza, where he has been teaching since 2002. Andrea Zanrè is now devoted to the making of new instruments, replicas, restoration and the dealing of fine instruments. In 2007 one of his cellos was awarded the gold medal at the 1st ANLAI-Pisogne competition. |
